Eco koude gerechten

Duurzaam verpakken van koude gerechten 
Bij VDL staat hoogwaardige kwaliteit en innovatie centraal. Dit trekken we door naar de catering en logistiek van koude gerechten. Door te kiezen voor ecologische verpakkingen verlagen we onze ecologische voetafdruk en dragen we bij aan de duurzaamheidsdoelstellingen.
Onze aanpak voor ecologische verpakkingen:
  • Biologisch afbreekbare materialen: We maken gebruik van containers van bagasse (suikerrietpulp) of PLA (bioplastic). Deze materialen sluiten aan bij een circulaire economie omdat ze volledig composteerbaar zijn.
  • Herbruikbare VDL-systemen: In lijn met onze focus op efficiëntie stimuleren we het gebruik van herbruikbare containers. Dit vermindert de afvalstroom binnen onze locaties aanzienlijk.
  • Gerecycled papier en karton: Voor droge koude gerechten kiezen we voor FSC-gecertificeerd gerecycled papier, wat eenvoudig te verwerken is in onze bestaande recyclingstromen.
  • Minimalistisch en functioneel ontwerp: Geen onnodige franjes. We gebruiken verpakkingen volgens het 'less is more'-principe om materiaalgebruik te minimaliseren zonder de bescherming van het product te schaden.
  • Lokale sourcing: Waar mogelijk betrekken we verpakkingsmaterialen van lokale leveranciers om transportbewegingen en de daarmee gepaard gaande CO2-uitstoot te beperken.
  • Voedselveiligheid eerst: Bij elke ecologische keuze waarborgen we de strikte VDL-standaarden voor hygiëne en voedselveiligheid, specifiek afgestemd op de koelvereisten van de gerechten.
Door deze methoden te integreren, versterken we de positie van VDL als een maatschappelijk verantwoorde onderneming die oog heeft voor de toekomst van mens en milieu.
